Wolves: Feared by All, Respected by Many

Wolves have long held a fearsome reputation, as being a fast, aggressive beast. They eminate from what is called the Canidae family.

The largest member of the Canidae family is the grey wolf, which is commonly referred to as ‘Canis lupus’.

Once in large numbers throughout at the wild of much of Eurasia from Turkey to Russia, and North America, wolf populations have decreased as a consequence of the destruction of their habitat. This has lead to their protection in some parts of the world, while in other parts they are hunted for sport. In 2009 the USA lifted protection over the Gray Wolves.

This website is dedicated to providing information about wolves, the most fearsome and legendary predators of the wild.
